Annual UK Tour
Every year, a network of volunteers organise an annual touring programme involving Grassroots Theatre Company, who run Zimbabwean dance, drama and music workshops in schools, colleges, churches, theatres, youth centres and at arrange of other community-based venues.
Our first UK programme was organised in 2000 by The Daneford Trust, a youth education charity based in London, and involved Zimbabwean dance, drama and music workshops in London, Hemel Hempstead, Tyneside and Norwich. Since then, we have developed a very committed network of volunteers across England, Scotland and Wales, which constitutes the main membership of GAUK. The remit of the each regional programmes is determined by the needs identified by the regional community of volunteers. To find out more about each region, please visit our Volunteer page using the menu above. |
