Grassroots Arts UK (GAUK) is a charity (No.1138485) that supports theatre for development and arts in education programmes in the UK and Southern Africa that aim to address issues of inequality, poverty, health, the environment and international development.

GAUK is supported by a network of volunteers throughout the UK that support these aims by organising local arts events in schools, churches, community and arts centres, which are delivered by overseas arts organisations. Our main partnerships are with Grassroots Theatre Company (GTC) from Zimbabwe and The Daneford Trust, an international volunteering charity based in London.

GAUK was awarded charitable status in October 2010 and is registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales. However our volunteer network has been organising events for over ten years as part of an exchange programme coordinated by The Daneford Trust.
